A Novel Data Management Methodology and Case Study for Monitoring and Performance Analysis of Large-Scale Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) and Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES) System

Aalto New Campus Complex (ANCC) is a recently inaugurated educational facility at University, located in Otaniemi (Espoo), Finland. Within over 40,000 m2, it comprises two faculties, shopping center, recreational areas, and metro station. ANCC also large-scale application of Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP)–Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (BTES) Finland, comprising an irregular BTES field 74 boreholes with overall length roughly 23 km 4 million m3 energy storage. Therefore, accurate monitoring the GSHP–BTES system crucial for sustainable efficient long-term operation. Due to fundamental issues affecting accuracy all thermal meters, novel methodology adjusting consistency measured data (in order accomplish daily balance on both sides GSHP) developed.
